Operations Recommence at Edinburgh Airport Following Substantial Control Tower IT Issue
Passenger services have recommenced at Scotland's primary international airport after a substantial technical issue at the control tower brought the international hub to a standstill.
All aircraft movements were stopped after an technical fault that was reported at approximately 08:30.
Some passengers found themselves stranded in jets at the stand while the issue persisted.
Operations Restart with Residual Impact
A statement indicated at 10:40 that services were back online, and expressed gratitude to passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".
Nonetheless, ongoing issues are expected to affect schedules. Services bound for key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been cancelled, with many others experiencing delays.
Officials had earlier anticipated that dozens of flights could be disrupted.
"Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline for the most up-to-date details on their booked journeys," was the consistent advice.

The airport attributed the operational halt to an technical fault with its ATC service provider.
